What is a Household Travel Survey?
Household Travel Surveys help determine the amount of travel generated in an area by local residents. Participants use a smartphone app, website or other methods to record where, when, how and why they travel.
What is the purpose of the survey?
These surveys provide information about local travel patterns and needs. They help the Maricopa Association of Governments (MAG) make decisions about transportation projects that impact you and your community.
Why should my household participate?
1) Your participation will improve the transportation options and experience for yourself and your community. 2) Your data will help better inform where transportation dollars are spent. 3) Whether you travel a little or a lot your travel behavior represents what a lot of other residents do - so your participation matters.
What would I have to do?
X-ING App
For this survey, you will need to install and run our smartphone app, X-ING, which will automatically collect your data and create a Trip Diary for you. Use the PIN (Access Code) you received. If you don't have an Access Code contact us and we will provide one for you. We need you to view and verify/edit each day’s travel timeline. We will send you a notification each evening to remind you to verify your Trip Diary, but you can do so at any time throughout your day.
