The Maricopa Association of Governments (MAG) is conducting a household travel survey to help plan future transportation improvements in the area.
We are seeking household travel survey data from all members of your family to gain insights into travel patterns in the region. For every household member who participates using our project smartphone application, 'X-ING,' a $20 gift card will be awarded. Additionally, a $5 reward will be given for each family member who participates without using the app. For example, if your household has 5 members, and 3 use the app while 2 do not, your total household reward would be $70.

Your travel information is important data MAG uses to plan for our region’s future transportation needs. Whether you take public transit to work, drive kids to school, travel very little, or bike everywhere – your travel information is the key to creating a useful, convenient transportation network that meets everyone’s needs. The more people who complete the study, the better our results will be. That’s why we really need your help!
What is a Household Travel Survey?
Household Travel Surveys help determine the amount of travel generated in an area by local residents. Participants use a smartphone app, website or other methods to record where, when, how and why they travel.
What would I have to do?
For this survey, you will need to install and run our smartphone app, X-ING, which will automatically collect your data and create a Trip Diary for you. We need you to view and verify/edit each day’s travel timeline. We will send you a notification each evening to remind you to verify your Trip Diary, but you can do so at any time throughout your day.

These surveys provide information about local travel patterns and needs. They help the Maricopa Association of Governments (MAG) make decisions about transportation projects that impact you and your community.
